    Nineleaps: Substantiating the Agile Philosophy

    Vivekanand Jha,Co-Founder, NineleapsVivekanand Jha, Co-Founder
Based on a report published in 2017, close to 93 percent of organizations practice agile development strategies, and it is a no-brainer that the methodology provides a competitive edge to firms, ensuring efficient product development cycles. Divy Shrivastava and Vivekanand Jha, the founders of Nineleaps, set out on their agile explorations with a similar mindset of disrupting and revolutionizing business models back in 2014. Today, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of digital products and services focusing on agile software development for digital transformation.

Nineleaps specializes in developing scalable and performance-driven solutions for web, mobile, big data and, analytics-driven operations, thereby catering to various industry needs and empowering business transformation. It designs strategies for agile transformation and implementation to help businesses ensure quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of operations. In addition to that, the company has built a team of Agile and Scrum coaches who work closely with customers by ‘hand-holding’ them through the transformation journey. “From providing consulting service to managing full-fledged assignments of building, operating, and transforming business models, we empower our clients with the sophistication of agile to reach their business objectives,” explains Vivekanand, the company’s Co-Founder .

The organization has developed multiple in-house models like Nineleaps Maturity Model (NAM) and Nineleaps Customer Agile Journey (CAJ) to assist customers in realizing goals and objectives through ‘demonstrable milestones’, thereby quantifying the expected return on investments.
Nineleaps undertakes proof of concepts that leverage DevOps and Microservices to ensure that clients stay ahead of the technology curve. “One of our distinct advantages is our deep technology know-how, which we can tap into our clients’ business strategy and support their agile projects,” adds Vivekanand. By taking a holistic approach to agile, Nineleaps provides a unique recipe that comprises vital ingredients such as people, processes, and technology stacks to forge the ideal strategy for the design, implementation, and monitoring of business operations.

With such a progressive approach, the company has demonstrated its ability to understand its clients’ requirements, empowering them to achieve their organizational goals. Nineleaps’ association with a global telecommunications solution provider substantiates its credibility in addressing business requirements through agile development. The client’s virtual healthcare system had lengthy release cycles for every product update, which stunted the ability of business teams to respond to the customer demands. Adding to the challenges, the lengthy production cycles delayed the process of debugging and resolution of production issues. As a countermeasure, Nineleaps adopted the Agile Scrum Process managed through JIRA and employed Slack for interdepartmental and team communications to strike the balance between business objectives and product reliability. To ensure the stability of product release cycles, Nineleaps implemented a strict Definition of Done (DoD) and Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) with a CI/CD pipeline for faster turnaround intervals of releases. An automated test framework was implemented to ascertain the immediate feedback loops, and the results were noteworthy. Nineleaps enabled shortened monthly release cycles, all the while reducing the number of issues reported in production and the time interval between development and product release. As an outcome, the business teams of the telecommunications solution provider successfully signed multi-million dollar contracts in India, growing in line with the envisaged Indian Government Healthcare initiative.

This is just one of the many endeavors that highlight the importance of agile and Nineleaps’ proficiency in delivering enhanced performance capabilities. As an extension to their expertise in agile, the team at Nineleaps is working on an open source initiative for effective and efficient delivery strategies. “Our efforts are aimed at strengthening the agile methodology and developing a robust portfolio that empowers customers to attain their organization goals,” summarizes Vivekanand.
