With today’s rapid technological advancements, enterprise systems have grown more complex, requiring companies to develop cutting-edge solutions to manage assets within their infrastructure. In this environment legacy software solutions are still prevalent in the infrastructure asset management market. The urgent need to modernize such systems has left many companies in a bind. Furthermore, these enterprise systems need to undergo intricate configuration and setup that adds to the workflow overhead in the asset management process. According to Dr. Fritz Jooste, Co-Founder of Lonrix Limited, what this essentially means is that even if a company has installed a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) system, in reality, it has to rely on the software provider’s support services. Tackling this predicament head on, Lonrix Limited offers a modern, cloud-based, Agile solution that facilitates configuration and implementation of the system in a more cost-effective manner.

When implementing JunoViewer, its linear asset management framework, an intensive focus on client requirements allows Lonrixto develop fit-for-purpose components such as GIS tools, statistical tools, and reporting modules. Ravi Kiran, Co-Founder of Lonrix Limited, adds, “Lonrix configures tools according to a client’s specific needs, at a fraction of typical corporate development cost.” Lonrix rolls out the essential features of a new component within the shortest possible timeframe. Over time, Lonrix leverages client feedback and performs code refactoring to improve the deliverable product.
Lonrix takes an iterative and Agile approach to build, over time, a system that fits the client like a glove. “For us, meeting the clients’ expectation is the number one priority; we provide the technical assistance and process clarification as and when required,” states Kiran.

In one situation, Lonrix helped a multi-national contractor to develop a reporting feature as a bespoke add-on to JunoViewer. The company developed this feature in a short period of time despite the fact that the project involved the coming together of elements from cloud-based as well as offline inspection forms. Once the client demonstrated the updated system with the add-on to a national government agency, the agency offered to purchase the solution and roll it out to other contractors nationwide. The reporting feature significantly reduces the man-hours and paperwork that would normally be required in the course of a typical government contract execution. Since the development of the add-on feature, the solution has received more buy-in and support than was envisaged at the beginning. Such examples are a shining testament to the impact that Lonrix has made in the infrastructure asset management industry as an Agile solutions provider.

For us, meeting the clients’ expectation is the number one priority; we provide the technical assistance and process clarification as and when required

Lonrix has covered significant ground in delivering an Agile solution in the infrastructure asset management industry. The young company, as Kiran mentions, has witnessed impressive growth yet still remains lean and hungry to make its mark on the global asset management stage. Lonrix’s agility is fully supported by its team distributed across New Zealand, South Africa and India. This enables them to support clients over many time zones and offer highly cost-effective solutions to develop bespoke features for those clients. Moving forward, the firm will be targeting more geographical regions for expansion. Lonrix is also experimenting with various new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and machine learning modules to identify defects on roads. The company has also released a GIS-stamped cloud-based video streaming feature allowing experienced engineers to make decisions in the office remotely. Having focused thus far almost exclusively on making its software cutting-edge in terms of the underlying technology and feature sets, Lonrix is now entering a more targeted marketing and business development phase
